  • Fasting instructions for sedation / general anesthesia of different species

    Cats & Dogs:

    Withdraw all food / food sources at 22:00 the night before sedation / general anesthesia. You may continue to offer water until 6:00am on the morning of the sedation / general anesthesia.

    If your pet has severe disease, please contact us for individual fasting instructions.

    Avian:

    No fasting required.

    Other small mammals:

    (including Rabbit, Chinchilla, Guinea Pig, Hedgehog, Sugar Glider, Hamster, Golden Hamster, Ferret):

    No fasting required.

    Reptiles:

    Contact our veterinarian for further instructions based on specific needs.

  • Collecting a Urine Sample – Dog & Cat

    我們需要你為你的寵物採集尿液樣本(Urine Sample)。

    • 我們的獸醫助護會為你提供一個尿液樣本採集瓶,以便你採集其尿液樣本。

    採集狗隻尿液樣本(Urine Sample)

    • 我們會為你提供一個無菌採集瓶,請勿令該採集瓶受到污染 (因為這可能會影響化驗的準確性) 。
    • 請在你狗隻早上第一次排尿時為牠採集其尿液樣本。
    • 我們需要你為你的狗隻採集其中段的尿液樣本。這表示當牠排尿時,頭段的尿液不被採集,尾段的尿液亦不採集,只採集頭段過後至排尿完結前的中段尿液樣本。
      • 最理想的採集方法是利用尿液樣本採集瓶於排尿過程中直接盛戴其中段的尿液樣本。
      • 假如以上的方法不可行,請嘗試利用一隻清潔的碟子或碗去盛戴尿液,  然後利用我們提供的無菌針筒或抽取管將尿液抽出,並注入尿液樣本採集瓶。
      • 假如以上的兩種方法均不可行,你亦可以利用我們提供的無菌針筒或抽取管直接在地面上將尿液抽出,並注入尿液樣本採集瓶。
      • 當你提交尿液樣本時,請你於採集瓶上註明你採集尿液樣本的方法, 你亦可以直接告訴我們的接待員或獸醫助護。

    採集貓隻尿液樣本(Urine Sample)

    • 我們需要你由貓砂盤中為你的貓隻採集其尿液樣本。
    • 為避免尿液樣本受到污染,你不能於貓砂盤中放置一般的貓砂。你可以向我們購買一種叫“Catrine”的特製貓砂,你亦可以空置貓砂盤,不放任何貓砂。
    • 雖然你的貓隻可能不喜歡跟平日不同的特製貓砂,但當牠需要如廁時,仍然會在貓砂盤中排尿。
    • 請定時檢查貓砂盤,察辨你的貓隻是否已經排尿。
    • 當發現貓隻經已排尿,請利用我們為你提供的無菌針筒或抽取管將尿液樣本抽出並注入尿液樣本採集瓶。
    • 請於該尿液樣本採集瓶註明寵物名稱,採集尿液樣本的日期,時間及方法。假如你對以上資料有任何懷疑,你可以選擇於提交尿液樣本時才把資料填上。

    請於採集尿液樣本後,盡快提交樣本給我們 (最理想是於一小時之內提交) 。假如未能做到以上要求,尿液樣本可以貯存於攝氏 4-8 度的雪櫃內,我們的獸醫助護會告訴你最佳的貯存方法。
